Dating milestones show. In the first place though, this series is a milestone (as well as 'Buffy') for lesbian characters on TV, since it built the brigde between invisibilty and visibility of lesbians on TV. However, it still wasn't possible to say 'it' and to show 'it'. But X:WP was the reason why other TV shows finally could say it and could show it. Nonetheless the subtext was the reason why so many lesbian viewers felt a need to make the sexual element in the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle visible ... marriage milestones.
